Gam zeh ya'avor is a saying in Hebrew meaning roughly "this too shall pass". It is believed to have its roots in an ancient story about King Solomon. Solomon commissioned a ring to be made that would have the ability to make a happy man sad and a sad man happy. The ring that was made bore the inscription "gam zeh ya'avor" (this too shall pass) to remind one that even the worst of times are transitory, and that the best of times never seem to last long enough. '
