Gam may refer to:

  • the title of a village's elected tribal chief among the Himalayan Adi people
  • Gam, Cornwall, a town in southwestern England
  • a Welsh family name (from a Celtic word meaning 'lame'), as in Dafydd Gam
  • The Free Aceh Movement
  • A meeting at sea of two or more whaling ships
  • The musical duo GAM (band) featuring Aya Matsuura and Miki Fujimoto
  • In plural (gams) a slang term for women's legs; i.e. "What nice gams she has!"
  • A horrendous mythological bird (Gamm). It is mentioned in the myth of German Gladensvend.
  • Reference to a colloquial variety of language used among some sectors of the Cape Coloured population in Cape Town, South Africa. For example some gam words include 'duidelik', 'bot' and 'versin'. Many of these words are derived from standard Afrikaans. The word 'gam' can have quite negative and derogatory connotations but there is also in-group status attached to this language variety.
