Galway Airport (IATA: GWYICAO: EICM), or Aerphort na Gaillimhe in Irish, is located at Carnmore about 6.5 kilometres (4 miles) from Galway city in Ireland and is managed by Corrib Airport Limited. The airport has doubled its passenger throughput since 1998 and is now approaching 200,000 each year. It has over 22,000 traffic movements each year.

  • In recent years there has been an increase in the volume of private charters, Netjets being one of the more notable frequent visitors.
  • Galway Flying Club is located at the airport and operates extensively at the weekends. The club opererates 2 Cessna 172s (EI-MCF and EI-NFW) and 1 Cessna 152 (EI-BIB) along with many privately owned aircraft. The club provides instruction and the use of its aircraft for PPL students.
  • A helicopter training school is also located nearby.

Despite being only 6km from Galway city centre, the airport is very poorly served by public transport, with only a single daily bus and no rail connection. The airport website recommends taxis from 7€ one-way.
