Gainfield is a small ribbon development along the B4508 road, by its crossroads with the Buckland to Charney Bassett road, near Stanford in the Vale, in the Vale of White Horse district of Oxfordshire, England. It is opposite the woodland known as Buckland Warren.

There is a legend, intertwined with that of nearby Cherbury Camp, that tells of the land being given as a reward to a young shepherd boy, who saved the inhabitants of the camp by his vigilance.
