Gaff is a name taken from the character of Edward James Olmos in Blade Runner. I created the username Gaff on October 14, 2005 not long after joining Wikipedia. My first contribution to WP was a biography of a friend, posted a short while after his death. An interesting character in life, he was nonetheless lacking in verifiable notability and the article was soon deleted.

In general, I am an inclusivist. However, I do enjoy striking down vandalism and nonsense. As a rule, {{nonsense}} is a wonderful thing, but it does not automatically belong in an encyclopedia.
