The reasoning for the Messerschmitt is Twofold.
The first, is that She does call it as such when she formally introduces herself in an earlier episode.
Secondly, it also holds to the theme of the Techodes being named after WWII fighters, namely, the P-38 Lightning, A6M Zero, P-47 Thunderbolt, and Nakajima Ki-84 "Hayate".
And of course, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 (Or the Messerschmitt Bf 110) SAMAS 21:00, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
