From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chaz "G.A.G.E." Scott is a Latin-American rapper from Philadelphia. He was born and raised in Germantown, but currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. The acronym "G.A.G.E." stands for "Germantown Avenue, Gotta Eat." G.A.G.E. is a protege of producer/rapper Dr. Dre, currently signed to his Aftermath Entertainment imprint.

Mel-Man, a Philadelphia producer and Dre's right-hand man, discovered G.A.G.E. through a three-song demo. He brought the demo to the attention of Dr. Dre, who was impressed. Dre arranged to meet with G.A.G.E. in 2003, flying him into Los Angeles. It took two years for G.A.G.E. to convince Dre that he had a lot to offer. Finally in mid-2005, a deal was inked and announced to the public.

In mid-2006, G.A.G.E. released his mixtape Crack, Murder, and Missed Meals, hosted by DJ Whoo Kid. The mixtape was widely distributed. It featured the Dre-produced "Move" and "Canon" featuring Busta Rhymes and T.I.. G.A.G.E. has also recorded with Jamie Foxx. The song "Not Yet" is set to be included on the Miami Vice Soundtrack.

With permission from Dr. Dre, G.A.G.E. has launched his own label called "AMPM (Aftermath Philly Mob)". G.A.G.E. is currently working on his debut album in Los Angeles. The LP is tentatively titled The Soundtrack To My Life. It's expected to have production by Dr. Dre, Focus, Scott Storch, and Hi-Tek. No release date has been announced.
