G. J. Teale

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

G. J. Teale (Geoffrey, J. Teale) was the teenage lead guitarist in the Schechter-Teale Band.

For a short period in the early 1990s they were considered a hot prospect but, despite drawing reasonable audiences in the UK and US, they never went beyond small scale independent record sales. G.J. was clearly a talented guitarist and song writer, but his style was very similar to other guitarists of the era, particularly Kenny Wayne Sheperd who soon overshadowed him.

Following the split of the Schechter-Teale Band G.J Teale went solo for a while before taking on session work. G.J. Teale retired from his music career in 1997.

G.J's name as been associated with Heather Nova, Misty Oldland, and Ani DiFranco.
