[edit] Promotional Vandilism?
Someone keeps posting an artist's name called 'Notorious ALI' under current g-unit artists, i can't find any information on this artist so if anyone knows anything say something please. Someone keeps putting Ras Kass up too again can someone please say something if there is any proof that he is in g-unit.
[edit] West Coast Ressurection My Ass
They are not changing the name. Plus just saying that they ressurected the West is bullshit. The only Unit member on the West Coast is Spider Loc and he is a fucking nobody. and hot rod
[edit] Mixtapes or Bootlegs?
I'm not too sure yet but the supposed list of "Mixtapes" doesn't look very realistic they seem to be bootlegs to me, not mixtapes made by G-unit and Dj Whoo Kid, I put a couple of definitely official mixtapes like "G-unit: 50 cent is the Future" up and someone took them off could someone back-up me up on the matter that these are not real G-Unit mixtapes.
[edit] Vandalism
Can somone remove that "Don't mess with G-Unit" thing at the end of the article?
[edit] Vandalism removed
Someone had removed everything in the article, up to "Recent aquisitions", and replaced it with "SPENCAAA". I'm assuming it was the same person who wrote "JUH-JUH-JUH G-UNIT!!!" in the discussion page. I've just restored the page to its previous state.
JUH-JUH-JUH G-UNIT!!!
68.162.132.194 added the following to the end of the article:
- It is actually spelled gorilla as in the animal. I think it is pretty degrading, but look at their clothing line, you can see how its spelled.

- I wrote JUH-JUH-JUH G-UNIT!!! on the discussion page, but I did not write "SPENCAAA". In an alternate universe, I'm a legitimate contributor to Wikipedia.--69.234.14.168 06:20, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The G in G-Unit
Well, Guerilla does seem to make more sense. The only true way of finding out is asking the group themselves.
MessedRocker 22:46, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)
== G-UNIT gorilla what a cool name mainly given because they are from the hoods(The Jungles)and not cos there hairy but their music is they ned 2 get it right these wanna b gangsters need 2 wory more about their lyrics and not about their clothes or what 2 call them
i can't for the life of me remember where, but i read an interview with 50 cent where the whole guerilla/gorilla thing was brought up and he basically said that the group is guerilla unit but they didn't want to bring out their clothing line under that name, as it was around the time of the war, and as they didn't want to be associated with any kind of warfare, they released it under the name gorilla unit. User:febodyed
== I actually read an article stating the exact opposite - It was originally Gorilla, and had to be changed due the similar "Gorillaz" group. However, an article on ALLHIPHOP.COM with 50 Cent claims that it stands for Guerrilla, but also Gangsta. I think they just claim whatever they feel best suits at the time.
I heard somewere that G-Unit was suposed to be prononsed "Gun It". can this be true?
How can you know so sure? do you have any strong argument (exept that it is guerilla unit) for your point.. It's not that i don't thrust your cunning, i just want to know why you can tell so sure that it can't be prononced 'Gun it'. //LMT 5 februari 2006
G-G-G-UNIT!!! I love them all!!! But Fiddy is the best!!!
== I believe it's pretty clear that it's not pronounced Gun-it, since it's never been pronounced like that by the group. The constant "G-G-G G-Unit" calls during songs clear that up.
==After alot of resarch on their original products (clothing and albums) i have realized something. for their record company its Guerilla Unit (their albums are realeased as Interscope/Aftermath/Guerilla Unit), but for their clothing company it is Gorilla unit
[edit] G-Unot
If you didn't know...
- also, some users that dont know much about this, want to merge these two together, wich i think is a really stupid idea. .::Imdaking::. Tlk | E-M 00:49:40, 2005-09-09 (UTC)
[edit] some big edits
I'm a bit of an outsider on G-Unit, but made several changes (as you can see). I took out a lot of stuff that either didn't make any sense to me, or was too badly or incompletely written for me to fix. I removed all the member bios, since they've all got their own pages, although I think a brief description about their "ranks" should be included (obviously 50 should be identified as the leader, etc).
Edit by JC, 10/5/06 === Apart from 50 Cent being leader, there's no other ranks within the group, so that would be pointless.
A question: For the sake of being informative for people who aren't in the know, can we clarify just exactly what G-Unit is? There seems to be some confusion throughout the article between G-Unit the group and G-Unit the record label. Perhaps there should be two different pages? The description of the "members" seemed unclear on whether they were all together members of a cohesive group (like a band), or if they're just all friends who sometimes record together and have a some sort of formal business relationship. Staecker 02:41, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
Edit by JC, 10/5/06 === The exact relationship of Label vs Group within G-Unit is something that hasn't even been clarified by the group. The original members (i.e. 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo & then later Young Buck) are obviously the main core of the group, but with Olivia, Mobb Deep & M.O.P. now featuring on many songs and tours, but not always being part of the group, it's difficult to determine whether they're now group mainstays, or simply label-mates who're featuring on the tracks.
[edit] wtf
Why would you delete the member bios?
[edit] He refused to beef?
what does "refuse to beef" mean?
- It means to refuse to have a feud or dispute with. This is obvious slang though, and shouldn't be in an encyclopedia entry. Barring objections, I'll try to substitute more formal language tomorrow. -- Hinotori(talk)|(ctrb) 10:10, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recent acquisitions
I feel that we should remove this section, as that pertains to the record label and not the rap group

[edit] OK What does it take to make an article?
This article is terrible! I don't understand this! You poeple are not using this Wikipedia wisely! Tell me this who started this! As far is it goes: Officially, Mobb Deep, Olivia, M.O.P. and Spider Loc are signed to G-Unit. M.O.P. and Spider Loc has not officially been apart of Interscope yet, so therefore it's still in the air. You are turning this article into a fansite. Look At the The DO NOTs at Wikipedia. I would like to see improvements in this article. Not a blovating page of nonsense. Thanks. LILVOKA.
[edit] Rumors
Ok. lets clear this up
1. Mike Knox is not signed to G-Unit he is just some guy who gives a shout out to g-unit websites
2. Paul Wall was in Ashanti's recent single "Still On It", and was featured in the "Stop Snitchin, Stop Lyin" soundtrack, which clears him up. 50 Cent may have approached him at the Vibe Awards or he didnt, he still isn't signing
3. Kool G Rap's wife Ma Baker just signed to The Black Wall Streets official producer Nu Jerzey Devil' record label Livelihood Entertainment, so Kool G Rap is not signing to G-Unit
4. Keyshia Cole is not signing to G-Unit, nor is Olivia being dropped
5. Lloyd Banks does not want to leave G-Unit, that was a rumour from The Source (which has a well-known bias against G-Unit)
6. The B.G. should still be in Rumors section since he still has his own label Chopper City and is not signing anywhere until he releases his album in late February.
7. N'yvus nor Jayo Felony are signed to G-Unit West since that rumor was started before there was even a G-Unit West, and was claiming that they were going to sign to G-Unit, but then someone changed it to G-Unit West when it was created to make it more believeable
8. 40 Glocc should really be in the Joint Venture section considering that Lil Scrappy and Lil John are and there signed to a brach of G-Unit, and 40 Glocc is also signed to Infamous Records
9. People should only put artists that have been comfirmed in the G-Unit, G-Unit South and West sections, and people that have not been confirmed in the Rumors section.
10. People should credit their sources not like people who have claimed that Lil Scrappy is a member of Trillville, which is ridiculous.
11. There should be a Producers section, look at the Aftermath Wikipedia page
LILVOKA is right therefore Mase, Lil Scrappy, MOP & Spider Loc shouldnt be in the roster section.
[edit] The G-Unit
Includes:
- 50 Cent
- Lloyd Banks
- Mobb Deep
- Tony Yayo
- Olivia
- Young Buck
- Spider Loc
- M.O.P.
Note: The Game for the time being until Interscope releases a press statement is still on G-Unit. This is a fact. Mase is still signed to Bad Boy, it's still in talks to release him from the label. M.O.P. and Spider Loc are not officially signed to Interscope, yet! Lil' Scrappy is working with G-Unit but it's not clear on where it stands. Kool G Rap, Lil' Jon, DMX, Beanie Sigel, Paul Wall and Jayo Felony are not on G-Unit. B.G. is currently in talks with G-Unit, but as of today not a member. So therefore, in two weeks this article will be improved to a standard. If there are any questions with this article, please talk to me! LILVOKA.And 50 Cent has said and I quot " Olivia is a member of G-Unit
- B.G. signed to Buck's independant label along w/ Scrappy in-case sum of yall aint know. He aint a part of G-Unit.
- The Game left G-Unit on his own you idiot.
- This isn't for G-Unit Records ... we are talking about G-Unit the group where Mase and Lil Scrappy are members, while Game is obviously not. RealFerrari 22:48, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A lil Proof and Knowlege goes a long way
Also how about you take a look at Http://spiderloc.com/ an do a lil reading cuz it says hes signed.Haha you just got burned .Want More ? How about you go look at http://www.g-unitrecords.com/ The Offical G-Unit Site you see all those people hmm some of them aren't members according to you or maybe you should look at the bottom see all those icons I see mop mase and spider loc isn't that odd No.Remeber this page is about G-Unit And they are members so what you gonna do start asking questions before you give answers like man i'm not trying to be a prick but you ruined alot of true information and you don't know anything You Should add back all the info I had it was more correct than what you have now if your gonna claim you know something how about actually knowing something first.Thats it thats all nail in the coffin. Btw I'm TheEvilGenius420
[edit] Kanye West
Someone in the much defaced 50 Cent article recently made the claim that Kanye West was joining hte G-Unit. If true and it has a citation, put it in this article as well.
I`m just woundering what a R&B artist is going to do in G-unit? He`s a playa, not a gangsta
Olivia isnt a gansta rapper but shes in G-Unit
[edit] Protection
I have added semi-protection to the page. Constant reverts and edits that are not sourced is time consuming and annoying to Wikipedians. Changes should be discussed on the talk page for un-protection or to the article.
I know that I have edited this article and cleaned it up numerous times, only to be fouled by fanfare and weasle words. Hopefully this will be curbed soon.
- Please protect this page. It is constantly being vandalized RealFerrari 22:14, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 'Rap supergroup'?
Banks and buck are the only half decent rappers, G-unit is far from a supergroup. Pssht at u kids.
Agreed - a supergroup can only be so when the individual members achieved their own success prior to the formation of the group or at least prior to the release of the first album. Just as D12 cannot be a supergroup as only 1 of their members (arguably 2 perhaps) had achieved any success in the rap game before the release of Devil's Night, G-Unit cannot be a supergroup as only 50 Cent (and perhaps Young Buck to an extent with UTP) had achieved any success. An example of a supergroup would be the Firm, where all the members were already known rappers before the group's formation. Supergroups are rare, G-Unit is just a rap group. I just realised that the wikipedia entry of supergroup explains all that I've just said. Just read that, it'll clarify things.
So wouldnt that make NWA a supergroup of it's time?DogPHman 17:58, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi... umm post something wih an answer, if G-Unit isnt a supergroup, would it be something like if the following rappers "just" made a group named like The All-Stars or the Illest Killers: Eminem, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, DMX, Xzibit, Chamillionaire, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Lil Jon, Cam'ron, Master P, and Puff Daddy or something like that?
Kinda, they have to actually be skilled rappers tho. Cam'ron, Diddy, 50 Cent...all of them have no exceptional talent in my eyes. Lil Jon shouldnt even be in a supergroup. NWA wouldn't be a supergroup of its time. Where were MC Ren & Yella before that?
[edit] Request unprotection?
This page has been protected for the past two weeks. No discussion has occurred on the issue in the past week talk page. Are the issues being resolved and the disputed parties moving towards consensus? If there are no objections, I will request unprotection. Calwatch 00:16, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Members?
Sometime soon could we add a comprehensive list of the Artists in G-Unit, theres no info in the article right now. Cheers, Dubbya9 04:13, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Grammar problem
There is a misplaced modifier in this sentence: "After the rapper's debut release, The Documentary, 50 Cent formally dismissed him from his G-Unit crew for alleged claims of 'disloyalty.'" This grammatically incorrect because it seems that the rapper's debut release The Documentary was 50 Cent's when it actually was the The Game's. This can easily be fixed by just using this sentence (even though it uses the passive): "After the rapper's debut release, The Documentary, The Game was formally dismissed by 50 Cent from his G-Unit crew for alleged claims of 'disloyalty.'"
- But it's still incorrect. You're presenting 2 rappers but still using 'the rapper's debut'. Here try this. "After The Game's debut release, The Documentary, he was formally dismissed by 50 Cent from 50 Cent's G-Unit crew for alleged claims of 'disloyalty.'"--Lil' Infamous (talk) 1:20, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Deejay and DJ are different spelling, but the spelling DJ is used in hip hop deejay is mostly not. So I changed it. --Mrrightguy10 00:57, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Washington, D.C.
I was recently in D.C. and took a picture of a street sign for G Street Northeast (near Union Station) that has the word "UNIT" on an attached sign (so it looks like it's saying G UNIT). Does anyone know if this sign has anything to do with the hip-hop group? If so, I'll post it to Wikipedia. --Coolcaesar 22:06, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
WOW! No it was probally just some young kids who thought it was cool to do.

How come it says G-Unot instead of G-Unit
[edit] subjective
G-Unit is a gangsta rap group founded by 50 Cent. The group first garnered a following in the underground New York City scene by independently releasing several mixtapes. The group's founder, Queens-based rapper 50 Cent, officially brought the group mainstream success by establishing it as a division at Interscope Records. Since signing to the label, almost all of G-Unit's members have released solo albums. They are the most famous and by far the most impressive and best rap group around.
Isn't that too subjective to be put in the article?
Id really hav to say hes right about one thing, they ARE the most famous, this is coming from a guy who discovered rap on year ago. when i did not listen to it, the only rap group i knew was g-unit, im just puttin it out ther, i still think its the best, but now my opinion is slanted towards, i had no slanted opinion we i was "rapless"
ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg-unit for life u all should try to listen to there music
