G&SWR 'Austrian Goods' 2-6-0

The Glasgow and South Western Railway (G&SWR) 'Austrian Goods' is a class of 2-6-0 (mogul) steam locomotive designed by Peter Drummond. 11 were built in 1915. These locomotives were given the nickname Austrian Goods. The first, 17824, was withdrawn in 1935 and the final one is 17829 in 1947. All were scrapped.

It is also known as the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Pre-Group Steam Tender Engine

According to Martin Clutterbuck, James the Red Engine (based on Class 28 of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway), from Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, bears a strong form to this engine.
