Fzoul Chembryl
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fzoul Chembryl is a fictional character in the Forgotten Realms universe. He is cunning, self-centered, scheming, quick-tongued, and ruthless. He has for years served as the second-in-command of the Zhentarim. While his former superior, Lord Manshoon, enjoyed the support of powerful beholders, Fzoul answered to his deity, Bane, and dealt with rivals inside his own faith. Within the past two years, however, Fzoul forced Manshoon from power and seized control of the eastern Zhentarim and Zhentil Keep itself. Responding to visions sent to him by Iyachtu Xvim (Bane's son, who later served as the reincarnation of Bane), Fzoul soon became the Baneson's Chosen Tyrant. He allied himself with a zealot by the name of Teldorn Darkhope in Mintar, and together the two forged a new relic for the faith of Bane, the Scepter of the Tyrant's Eye. With the reincarnation of Bane, Fzoul greatly stepped up his worship of the Black Hand and has been remarkably rewarded for his service. Thanks to the power of his terrible god and his own political maneuvering, Fzoul became the Tyrant of the Moonsea.
Fzoul now rules Zhentil Keep and holds the titles of High Priest of the Temple of Bane and High Lord of the Zhentarim. Fzoul plans to gain control of Arrabar and Reth in order to dominate the slave trade from the Lake of Steam. After that is accomplished, Fzoul plans to take control of Chondath and Sespech. He would also like to witness the rise of Banite temples everywhere.
Fzoul emanates an almost tangible essence of power. If pressed or threatened, he can magically summon a group of death tyrants (undead beholders) to his aid. He can even whisk himself away to their hidden enclave, if the need is great enough.
