The Future Kings of Spain is an Irish rock band, from Dublin.

Their self-titled debut album was released in August 2003. The follow-up Nervousystem was due to be released in the first quarter of 2006 but was delayed by "scheduling constraints" and will now be released "sometime" in 2006. Two session mixes of songs from Nervoussytem, 'Disappear' and 'Kick in the Teeth', are available on Future Kings of Spain's Myspace page.

[edit] Sound

Best described by "Alternative Rock," the debut album contained a very guitar-based sound, with a heavy disonant tone on many of the songs, such as the first single 'Face I Know'. The mood ranged from angst ('A Place for Everything') to melancholy ('Simple Fact').

[edit] Lineup

The line up on the debut album was Joey Wilson (vocals/guitar), Bryan McMahon (drummer) and bassist Anton Hegarty. Lead guitarist Karl Murray has been added since the debut was released.
