Furuta Shigenari

Furuta Shigenari (古田重然?) (1545-1615) Furuta Shigenari, the founder of the Oribe Ryu (school) of Tea Ceremony. Also known as Furuta Oribe (古田織部?). During the year of 1600, Shigenari received a 10,000-koku income. During the Osaka Campaign of 1615, Shigenari was tasked to plot in Kyoto against the Tokugawa and the Emperor, on the behalf of the defender's of Osaka. After this event, Shigenari was put to death along with all of his sons.
