The Furies are Greek mythology characters from the television show Xena: Warrior Princess. They are portrayed by Asa Lindh (Alecto), Celi Foncesca (Tisiphone I), Annmarie Dennis (Tisiphone II), Graciela Heredia (Megaera I), and Smeta Choto (Megaera II).
[edit] Character History
The Furies first appears when Ares, God of War, summons them to make Xena pay for the murder of her father[1]. Alecto, the leader of the Furies, deems Xena guilty of the charges and drove her insane. Eventually, Xena turns the tables on Ares, and claims he is her father. The Furies restore Xena's sanity and leave, stating they are going to tell the Gods of Mount Olympus about Ares' actions[1]. Much later, the Furies return after Athena plots to use them against Xena and Gabrielle[2]. They get into Gabrielle's head and drive her to nearly kill Xena's daughter, Eve[2]. After the deaths of most of the Gods[2], the Furies plan to take over Mount Olympus, and get into the now mortal Ares' head[3]. They trick him into trapping Xena underwater, but a well-timed chakram throw kills the Furies by slitting their throats and causing them to explode[3].
