Fulham Academy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fulham Academy, headed by John Murtough, runs along the lines of many of the English football academies as deemed appropriate by the national governing body, the FA. Until recently it was run by Steve Kean who upon Chris Coleman's appointment as first team Manager in summer 2003 was named as his assistant.
It has produced a number of professional players of great promise, most notably ex-England Under 21 internationals Zat Knight and Sean Davis, who transferred to Portsmouth F.C. from Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Zeshan Rehman who is the first homegrown British Asian player in the Premiership. Elvis Hammond, who is now at Leicester, is another such example.
