[edit] user page
It is felt that the article you created at THMMY.gr is not suitable for a Wikipedia article, which must have a notable subject and be verifiable. I have moved it to User:FugitiveTHMMY, which is where users are free to write about themselves. You are at liberty to move it back into the (Main) namespace but bear in mind that if you do so, it is likely to be nominated for deletion.
Note, however, that the purpose of a user page is to enable active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal homepage. Content unrelated to Wikipedia or its editing is likely to be removed.
Please see the user page guidelines, especially this section for more information.
Sorry, student societies are usually deemed non-notable. See if an external link in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki article will be accepted. -- RHaworth 18:13, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
- First of all how can I pm you? Secondlly, I apologize for the article but I was asked from the community to do so. What I want to ask is why you deleted this article. Was it against the rules of Wikipedia or did you delete it because you think nobody will read it? Why not creating a category for Internet Communities? Thank you in advance. user:fugitiveTHMMY (via email)
What on earth is "pm"-ing. I am not sure if I want to be pm-ed. As I said above, student societies and websites tend to get a rough ride here - Wikipedia tries to reflect the real world not just the web. I did not delete it: I moved it, which indicates that I did accord it a bit of respect. I "userfy" dozens of articles. In most cases the authors go away and are never heard again. You have come back - great - move the article back where it was. If I notice, I will put it up for AfD and you will see how other editors here react. -- RHaworth 17:30, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] MfD Nomination
I've nominated your user page for deletion under the Miscellany for deletion process, since you have made few or no edits outside of your user page since you created it. User pages are intended for the use of active Wikipedia editors to aid them in their work. Your page seems intended to use Wikipedia as a free webhost or promotional service, which Wikipedia is not.
We appreciate editor contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that your user page belongs here. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Skifdank. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of the page during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Miscellany for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. --Calton | Talk 05:12, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
