Fuckparade

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fuckparade is a techno demonstration in Berlin. As of 2005 it has occurred every year since 1997, in July or August. It developed as reaction to the music restriction (exclusion of Gabber music) and commercialisation of Love Parade. Besides, it broached the issue of the techno club Bunker being closed. The most played styles of music in the Fuckparade are Gabber, Speedcore, Techno, Punk, and House.

[edit] History

[edit] 1997

The first Fuckparade demonstration had the name Hateparade and was held on the 12th June 1997. It started at the club Bunker and lead to the Alexanderplatz. There was loads of press coverage for this underground event, as the Loveparade had been the only symbol of techno so far. The name of this demonstratin was misinterpreted by some media as "March of Hate"

[edit] 1998

The second demonstration changed the name from Hateparade to Fuckparade (short for "Fuck the Love Parade") because of the misinterpretation mentioned.

[edit] 2005

The Fuckparade 2005 was on August 6 in Berlin.
