Fußball-Bundesliga (women)

The Women's Football Bundesliga is the main league competition for women's football (soccer) in Germany and Austria. It is based on the men's Bundesliga.

The German Women's Bundesliga was created, based on the model of the men's Bundesliga, in 1991 by the German Football Association (DFB). It was first played with north and south divisions, though since 1997 it has become 'double-railed' as a group basing itself around the German women's championship easily.
