The Stratus Technologies FTX operating system is the reliable UNIX® operating system provided by Stratus. The FTX operating system is a UNIX operating system with built-in reliability, availability and serviceability. The FTX operating system provides the highest degree of UNIX fault tolerance. Because the FTX operating system is a variant of UNIX, it can be used in environments where "open systems" and standards, combined with fault tolerance, is a requirement. Users can maintain their UNIX resources while at the same time gaining the mission-critical features inherent to Stratus architecture, such as on-line upgrades for memory and CPU, hot-pluggable hardware support, application transparency, and more.
