Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia, also referred to as the Frontier Culture Museum, and formerly known as the Museum of American Frontier Culture, is a living history museum based in Staunton, Virginia. Its focus is on the history of the groups that immigrated to America in the 1600's through 1800's. The museum is comprised of five farms: the German Farm, the Scotch-Irish farm and blacksmith's shop, the English farm, the American Farm, and the soon-to-open Bowman House, an expansion of the American Farm. The American Farm focuses on the mix of cultures achieved in 1800's America, and is the house of a German immigrant. All the farms are real, historical buildings, painstakingly disassembled, brought on site, and reassembled.
