Frontenac Provincial Park is located near the town of Sydenham, north of the city of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The park lies on the Frontenac Axis, the southern-most extension of the Canadian Shield topography. It is a wilderness park composed of several lakes and forest offering backcountry camping accessed by canoe or on foot.
Frontenac Provincial Park is home to a native population of wolves. This is quite unusual for Southern Ontario. Other animals that call the park home are American black bear, red fox, mink, Northern River Otter, White-tailed Deer, porcupine, and fisher.
A note for campers: Be aware that, despite many areas requiring a canoe or long hikes for access, once you arrive you'll discover that the majority of camping areas have sites that are quite close together. It's as if they were designed more for ease of management than to provide back country wilderness camping experience. Note that a site's "good privacy" rating from http://www.frontenacpark.ca/ is no guarantee that you'll be satisfied. To many back country campers, hearing every word from a neighboring camp site does not constitute "good privacy".
