Fronteiras (Portuguese meaning the "frontier (of Minas Gerais)") is a municipality in the western part of the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Its latitude is 20.2673/20°16'4" S and the longitude is 49.198/50°11'58" W. The population in 2004 is 9,600, the density is 20.96/km² the area is 199.98 km² The elevation is 458 m.
The origin of the name is after the westernmost frontier of the state of Minas Gerais and is bounded with the state of São Paulo to the west. Fronteira are linked with several state highways.
