From our own Correspondent

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From Our Own Correspondent (also known as FooC) is a BBC radio programme in which BBC correspondents broadcast monologues on topical current events from countries outside the UK. The programme is broadcast on the BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4 and was one of the first programmes to be made available as a podcast. The programme was first commissioned in 1955 and today is introduced by veteran news correspondent, Kate Adie. The program offers an, often obscure, insider's view of events happening around the world.

A book entitled "From Our Own Correspondent: A celebration of 50 years of the BBC Radio Programme" was published in 2006 with a selection of the show's reports for each continent.
