Talk:Frisian literature

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Two questions. First, why is nearly every sentence in the "Overview" section in the conditional? ("Middle Frisian would generally be considered to begin around this time", "The greatest impact would come from Gysbert Japix", etc.) Second, what criteria for "constituting literature" are not met by mediaeval Frisian texts? (I refer to the sentence "Records of these, however, are fairly scarce and would generally not constitute literature, even if they did show some poetic merit".) Cheers for the stub we have got; but clearly much expansion remains to be done. QuartierLatin1968 El bien mas preciado es la libertad 19:26, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello. I realise the writing is rather poor, but I figured it would be nice to start with something. Honestly my intention was to come back at a later time and rewrite and expand the article but I've been lazy. As for your second question, that claim comes from a source I found that I unfortunately did not leave in the article. Admittedly this was an early attempt at writing an article for me, I'm more careful about citing sources nowadays. --Chroniclev 19:59, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
