Fritz Bleyl

Fritz Bleyl (1880, Zwickau - 1966) was a German painter of the Expressionist school.

In 1901 he began studying architecture at the technical university of Dresden. On June 7 1905, Bleyl, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Erich Heckel and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff created the group of artists Die Brücke ("the bridge"). He left the group in 1907, and became a teacher.
