Frigital Records
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Frigital Records is a small, independent record label interested in promoting "new sounds, uncompromising lyricism, and genre-defying songwriting from the backyard, the basement & the bedroom". Operating out of Durham, North Carolina, the lo-fi label is run since 2002 by Duke University Nicholas School graduate student, Ben Moore. Priding itself in its peculiar black and white aesthetic, all albums are handmade and shipped from the label itself. Frigital artists such as Birdie Hilltop, Crix Crax Crux, and The Hypermodernity Club have been included on many best of 2005 year-end lists. Other similar lo-fi/"bedroom" labels include Asaurus Records, Monotone Records, and the now defunct BedroomBrain label.
