[edit] Principal Characters
Pattie, the tall athletic female cashier attendant. She enjoys playing sports such as football and basketball. Ironically, although Pattie is not gifted intellectually, she uses her athleticism to compensate for her lack of smarts. For example, Pattie uses a unique studying technique which involves shooting a piece of paper into a make-shift basket in order to remember specific historic dates such as July 1, 1867 (Canadian Confederation). Although she is in touch with her masculine side, she is extremely romantic; her taste rather, is a different story. Her taste for men differ from a nerd that no one popular would like to be seen with, to a handsome criminal.
Tess, is the freespirit of the crew. Her French accent and last name indicate that she comes from a Francophone household. She is extremely well known to her fellow colleagues as a creative and artistic individual. Tess possesses a different sensibility from her other co-workers; she believes her aura/soul is a huge presence in her life and should be considered by others (but she is often ignored). With almost everything, she turns to the paranormal for answers to problems which have plausible and realistic answers. Tess works at the cashier but is often distracted by either studying, art projects, deadlines, songs, extra projects, or boys.
Robyn is the character closest to a "normal" person. She works as a cashier, and also does some work on the grill and in the sink. She has said on numerous occasions that she hates men and everything they stand for. However, she has a secret crush on one of her fellow colleagues, Alex, who encompasses everything she loathes about men. She has gave numerous hints on numerous occasions about the secret, but Alex doesn’t have the mental capacity to figure that out. For example, when Alex and Pattie were mistaken to be involved in a serious relationship, she indicated with two miniature figurines that they would not be married. Throughout the entire episode, she acted as if she was depressed and even ate expired chocolate that Ben bought for whomever would be his "future" girlfriend. Robyn could be considered the nicest of all the characters due to her semi-acceptance of Ben as a friend, but has been distancing herself from him due to his extremely obsessive attitude to perfection and greed. Robyn is usally agreed upon by viewers as the female on the show which most would be willing to know carnally. She also mysteriously has a huge love for Romanian soap operas that was demonstrated when a criminal used TNT on a vault about 20 feet away and she did not turn her eyes away from the soap-opera.
Alex, the typical handsome young teenager that is so self-centered and egotistical. He enjoys nothing more than angering his extremely obsessive assistant manager, Ben Shaw, whom he has expressed extreme frustration against. Although he has a reputation of being rude, disgusting and inconsiderate, he has proven that he is a worthwhile friend to his fellow colleagues. Alex's romantic abilities are viewed as somewhat limited because he does not recognize that Robyn is extremely attracted to him, even though she provides hints on numerous occasions. Alex has also had some troubles with girls he has laid eyes on; he just can't seem to keep his hands off them. Alex's large mouth has also got him into trouble. This is most evident when he has feuds with Ben. A prime example would be the exchange student from Flin Flon, Manitoba. An extremely attractive young woman that he had been attracted to, also caught the eyes of Ben, which obviously caused trouble between the two. Ultimately, a feud commenced and it finally resulted in two broken hearts. Alex, is typically known as the burger flipper, the area which he is extremely gifted in, but always seems to get into trouble both on and off the job. He also plays the violin, which he tries to keep secret from any and everyone because he does not want them to know that he plays the violin, which he thinks is geeky.
Ben is the highly obsessive and greedy assistant manager of Bulky's. He only wants one thing: more profits for Bulky's so that he can get recognition and be finally the manager of Bulky's. Some viewers would argue that he truly wants friendship and acceptance from his fellow colleagues, but Ben tries to portray himself as a person who does not require that and does not seek it. Ben is extremely stressed on every episode because of the trouble caused both by his own crew and other exterior phenomena. His friendship with the Bulky's crew is somewhat terrible — so much that the crew wishes that he falls over a bridge and injures himself so they could have a day off. Ben makes idiotic rules such as “any member of the crew at Bulky’s cannot date another member at Bulky’s” and he gives them a name that makes them seem important but which actually don’t make any sense at all. Ben is excellent at productivity and mathematics; he knows how to list and calculate profits. But like most of the Bulky's crew, he is somewhat self-centered. For example, he is always the employee of the month and he is the only one that has access to the money in his "personal vault" which even a criminal with TNT could not break in. Ben is a deeply troubled young man who did horribly on his provincial exams due to his urge of cheating which shows that Ben will do anything for his own benefit.
Meiyan, introduced in season two. Her work hours seem to vary from the rest of the cast, as most often, she appears during her off hours, mostly to antagonize Ben. She loves to annoy Ben, and has tried to take his job when Ben faked his death
Eddie is not part of the main crew, but rather an employee that transports the supplies from the warehouse to the restaurant. He is portrayed as a simpleton, but rather showed some signs of intelligence when he got 100% on all of his provincial exams without cheating. He often replies "____? I'm super good at _____" Whenever anyone mentions something they have problems with, but usually, Eddie turns out to not be as good as he says he is
The "head office guy" is the character that supervises the restaurant and is constantly bombarding Ben and the fellow crew with threats in order to increase productivity. He is a very serious man, but has shown for a brief time some humour. For example, he set up pranks for the entire crew in order to set them against each other for April Fool's Day.
