Friends of Rosslyn was a Scottish NGO, presided by celebrated historian and philanthropist Niven Sinclair, which was very active in the 1980s and 1990s.
Its main aims were the international projection of academic and professional study and analysis of the world famous Rosslyn Chapel (situated a little distance outside Edinburgh) and to maintain and oversee the land which surrounds the Chapel, purchased and owned by the Friends of Rosslyn.
The Friends of Rosslyn have published a number of books and conducted many lectures and seminars on the design and architecture of Rosslyn Chapel, its Christian, pre-Christian, Masonic and Rosicrucian heritage, its spiritual and esoteric testimony throughout the ages, and the colonisation of the Americas before the time of Christopher Columbus.
A number of leading historians and other figures were involved with the Friends of Rosslyn, including international author Tim Wallace Murphy, historian and co-author Robert Bryden, international marketer Dr. Massimo Ellul, Masonic historian and author James McKay Munro, and many others.
The Friends of Rosslyn have also embarked on a number of events to academically disprove many non-factual theories and myths which have been published regarding Rosslyn Chapel. On the other hand, Friends of Rosslyn have been in the foreground of expounding sensational academic and scientific discoveries on the Chapel, which further underline its unique dimensions in the religious, historical, spiritual, Masonic, Rosicrucian and esoteric fields.
