The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, or Holy Trinity Cathedral as it is popularly known, is the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Auckland, one of seven dioceses of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. The Diocese covers the area stretching from North Cape down to the Waikato River, across the Hauraki Plains and including the Coromandel Peninsula. The diocese was established in 1841, and originally covered the entire country. In 1854 it was limited to the Auckland region only.
People interested in supporting the work of the Cathedral, and in particular contributing to the maintenance and beautification of its fabric, may join the Friends of Holy Trinity Cathedral Parnell, which was established in 1986.
The current Dean is Richard Randerson, MA BD STM DMin, appointed 2000. He is also Vicar-General, from 1999, and Assistant Bishop from 2002.
