Frieda Woetzel (1907 - ) was a female officer at two Nazi concentration camps from August 1944 until April 1945.
Woetzel was born Frieda Drehmann on January 27, 1907, in Zeulenroda, Germany. On August 30, 1944, she began her training as a female overseer at the Ravensbruck concentration camp near Berlin. She soon was promoted because of her service to the rank of Blockfuhrerin (Block Overseer). In this role Woetzel oversaw the torture and murder of prisoners with no consequences from her superiors. Woetzel was later moved to the Barth subcamp where she served for the remainder of the war. An East German court sentenced Woetzel to life imprisonment on August 8, 1966.
