The Friday Times is Pakistan's first English-language independent newsweekly, based in Lahore, Pakistan. It was first published on 25th May, 1989.

TFT’s editorial policy is fiercely independent as demonstrated by the national and international standing of the newspaper. TFT’s founder-editor, Najam Sethi, and publisher Jugnu Mohsin, are recipients of prestigious international awards conferred by Amnesty International and the Committee to Protect Journalists. TFT is the most highly quoted paper from Pakistan in the international press.

Editorially, TFT holds the view that Pakistan was conceived by the Founding Fathers to be a liberal, modern Muslim state where free thought and free enterprise go hand in hand. TFT opposes obscurantism and dogmatic thinking and stands for the democratic rights of all citizens, regardless of creed or gender.

The Friday Times' Consulting Editor is Khaled Ahmed, its News Editor Ejaz Haider, Assistant News Editor Mehreen Zahra-Malik and Features Editors Imaduddin Ahmed and Abid Shah. TFT's inimitable in-house artist is Sabir Nazar.
