The Air Force Amy threshhold for biographical inclusion is a standard variously applied by inclusionist and/or deletionist factions in article-for-deletion discussions in Wikipedia's project namespace with varying degrees of effectiveness.
The "Air Force Amy" standard dates back to March 1, 2006, when the article Air Force Amy was kept[1] by a unanimous consensus of Wikipedia users, despite consisting entirely of unverifiable original research. In the wake of this decision, "Amy" became somewhat of an in-joke within the Wikipedia community, nearly rising to the meme status of Willy on Wheels, Mr. Treason, and autofellatio.
Amy, a Las Vegas prostitute[citation needed] , formerly of the United States Air Force[citation needed] , but also having starred in at least one pornographic film[citation needed] , has been namechecked numerous times in various heated deletion, policy, and even user-conduct arbitration discussions[2].
The following timelime summarizes the proliferation of the AFA meme.
