Talk:Freshwater prawn farm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I believe M. Rosenbergii is a true shrimp as they brood their eggs and their second abdominal tail section overlaps the first and third, like a saddle.
- Indeed it is, as shown in the taxobox on the giant river prawn page. However, the two terms "shrimp" and "prawn" are often used interchangeably (or based on non-systematic criteria, such as size, location, etc.). It is also worth noting that the overlap of the abdominal tergites isn't always a reliable distinguishing character. --Stemonitis 19:25, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
