French ship Pluton

Eight ships of the French Navy have borne the name Pluton :
- the 74-gun ship of the line Pluton (1778-1805) built at Cherbourg in 1778 which fought at the Battle of the Saintes in the American War of Independence and was renamed Dugommier in 1797.
- a privateer cutter (1801)
- the 74-gun ship of the line Pluton (1804-1808) built at Toulon in 1804 which took part in the Battle of Trafalgar under captain Julien Cosmao.
- the ship of the line Pluton (1806-1873)
- the wheeled corvette Pluton (1839-1854)
- a mine layer (1910-1923)
- a cruiser (1927-1939)
- The present Pluton is a combat diver ship, which supports the Naval Commandos.
