French ship Neptune

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Neptune was a 3rd rate 80-gun ship of the line of the French Navy, built by Jacques-Noël Sané in Toulon from 1801 to 1803.

She took part in the Battle of Trafalgar, and was one of the five French ships to survive the battle. She sailed to Cádiz, which she left two days afterward to take part in the counter-attack of Captain Cosmao.

She remained in Cádiz until 1808, when she was taken by the Spanish.
