Andrea Di Carlo |
French Teen Idol is a solo project of the Italian artist Andrea Di Carlo. It confounds the frontier between electronica and post-rock. The author, mainly inspired by the recent productions of M83, Sigur Rós and Craig Armstrong, weaves a fabric of intricate piano figures, impassioned sequences and intriguing samples. The album has been released on the 29th May 2005 by Nishi, sub-label of the first & most well known Canadian MP3 label No Type.
The song Shouting can have different meanings appears on the compilation of the Italian version of Losing Today magazine, issue n. 7 (October 2005). The song "(Un)told prejudices" features a monologue from the film 25th Hour.
