Fremantle Arts Centre Press began publishing in 1976 with the aim of developing the widest possible audience for outstanding Western Australian writers and writing. Since then it has grown into one of Australia's most successful independent publishers.
It publishes works of fiction, literary prose and poetry, social history, autobiography, biography, trade books in areas such as food and photography, children's picture books and fiction for young readers.
Fremantle Arts Centre Press has published works by many distinguished and award-winning authors. The list includes: T. A. G. Hungerford, A. B. Facey, Sally Morgan, Elizabeth Jolley, Tim Winton, Julia Lawrinson, Kim Scott, John Kinsella, Richard Woldendorp, Frances Andrijich, Carolyn Polizzotto, Wayne Ashton, Anna Haebich, Philip Salom, Eoin Cameron, Kate Lamont and Stephen Kinnane.
