Freedom fighters in Goa

Freedom fighters in Goa refers to the those involved in the campaign against Portuguese rule in this state. There have been sporadic campaigns, attempts and revolts in past centuries, though the campaign for Liberation, as it has been called subsequently, began in around the 20th century. Portuguese rule in Goa ended with a military action by the Indian army on December 16, 1961.
