Prince Fredrik Vilhelm von Hessenstein (1735-1808), Swedish soldier and statesman. Illegitimate son of King Frederick I of Sweden and his mistress Hedvig Taube. Appointed Field Marshal in 1773, Privy Councillor in 1776, and a proficient Governor General of Pomerania between 1776 and 1791.
