Frederick Allen Aldrich AB, M.Sc., PhD (May 1, 1927July 12, 1991) was a prominent marine biologist and educator. He is probably best remembered for his research on giant squid.

Aldrich was born in Butler, New Jersey on May 1, 1927. He began working at the Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1961 as an associate professor of biology. Two years later he became head of the department. He became the first director of the Marine Sciences Research Laboratory at Logy Bay in 1967. At the time of his death, on July 12, 1991, Aldrich was the Moses Harvey Professor of Marine Biology, a named chair that was created for him in 1990.

The squid species Australiteuthis aldrichi is named after him.
