[edit] Biography
Born into a musical family in Kiberg, Vith was the youngest child in the family. At an early age, he showed little interest in music. It was not until in 2001 when at age 13 he saw a videoclip on the Internet of Jimi Hendrix that Vith became obsessed with the guitar. Within the next four years Vith released a solo album titled Infinite Frontiers (2005) that went gold in Norway.
The success of his debut album made him a superstar in Scandinavia. Soon Vith and Tone Damli Aaberge (an Idol (Norway) entrant) became a couple.
After the break up with Aaberge, in 2006, Vith began seeing Jenny Hemfjell, also known as "Idol-Jenny". Vith released his next solo album, Infinite Frontiers Vol. II: On the edge to the Unknown, and won a MTV-award for "Best Album".
Hemfjell was a movie director at the time and directed the action movie Thunder Surrender with Vith playing the main character "Jørgen Johnsen". The movie was a hit at the box office.
After the shooting of Thunder Surrender Vith crashed his car into a local bar in Kiberg and lost his right arm. With the help of American doctors, Vith was fitted with a prosthetic arm. However, Vith is not satisfied with the prosthesis; he feels it makes his guitar playing more mechanical than it was previously; furthermore. He is working toward having a new prosthesis made.
[edit] Gear
Vith uses Ibanez guitars. His main guitar is a RG750 with a picture of himself. He is often seen with Jiwestone amplifiers, and praises them as having "the best natural distortion of any tube amp ever heard."
