Freddie Roach

Freddie Roach (born March 5, 1960 in Dedham, MA) is a boxing trainer and a former boxer. He is currently one of the most popular trainers in boxing, and has coached several current champions to world titles. Some of the bxers he has trained include Manny Pacquiao, James Toney, Vanes Martirosyan and Mike Tyson. Freddie Roach was voted "2003 Trainer of the Year" by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Prior to becoming a trainer, Roach was a journeyman fighter that didn't have the size or power to compete at the championship level. Roach did not come up victorious in bouts with any big name fighters, but dropped fights to former Super Lightweight champ Bobby Chacon, former Lightweight champ Greg Haugen, and boxing legend and former Lightweight champion Hector Camacho.
Recently, Roach has developed Parkinson's Disease as a result of his lengthy boxing career.
