Fred Stanley (baseball player)

Frederick Blair Stanley (born August 13, 1947 in Farnhamville, Iowa) was a Major League Baseball player from 1969 to 1982 for the Seattle Pilots, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, and Oakland Athletics. Stanley, whose nickname was "Chicken," primarily played as a backup shortstop and was a key backup player to Bucky Dent on the Yankees teams in the late 1970's.
