Fred Stacey

Fred Hurtle Stacey (6 August 1879 - 17 September 1964), born in Carey Gully, South Australia, 4th son of Henry & Anne Stacey. Educated at Uraidla Primary. He was a gold miner, farm labourer, timber miller and contractor. Fred served as Mayor of St. Peters 1928 - 1932. Fred joined the United Australia Party and was elected MHR for the federal Division of Adelaide 1931 - 1943. Fred married Edith and had 4 children, Kenneth, Lindsay, Marion and Marjorie.
