[edit] hacker emblem
Hi, Frap,
I've just contributed a userbox for hackers, and noticed that you link to Image:Hacker Emblem.png, so I thought this might be of some minor interest to you. cheers -jmb 13:32, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Spaces
Hi, maybe it's silly but if I have an article open to edit I take these spaces out to save bandwidth in future. I opened Dmesg as part of the date wikification process. Incidentally I have changed the output from "nowiki" to "pre", and put "nbsp"s in the date. The first part is how computer text should be. The second helps me not make silly mistakes when formatting dates. Rich Farmbrough. 16:03, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Of course you are right, which is why I generally only make the change when I'm editing the article anyway - this was an unusual event. On your second point I use a glorified search and replace to wikify dates, and while I always do a diff before saving, it is possible to wikify inappropriate dates. Furthermore when I search the XML dump, I will not pick up these pseudo-dates in the first place, saving a re-visit to article. Rich Farmbrough. 16:31, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Incidentally the space saving is approximately 1/1000th of the whole. Rich Farmbrough. 16:38, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Skybl
Have a look at this user's edits. [1]. What do you think? I've let him know about re-creating AfD'd pages. Rich Farmbrough. 16:42, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm glad it's not just me. I've (re)-removed the articles relating to him (which were copies of his user page) , and article space links, and I'll list his pix (for deletion). I guess he'll come back and recreate them at some point. <sigh> Rich Farmbrough. 19:33, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Ccleaner.gif
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Ccleaner.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 14:46, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
- Please add an appropriate tag to avoid 'deletion in future' from Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. -- Shyam (T/C) 19:12, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] TR-3B Stryker II Deletion
Hi, the TR-3B Stryker II is on debate for deletion, well many of us are trying to keep it up, I was hoping you would add a keep to it since you helped it. Right now they are complaining that we are all new users trying to keep it up and it would be nice to have someone who has been around a little longer, make a keep post. Please remember to sign all of your posts on talk pages. Typing four tildes after your comment ( ~~~~ ) will insert a signature showing your username and a date/time stamp, which is very helpful. — Nathan (talk) 00:55, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] List of comic...
The point really was, this was what the original intent of the page was, but poor naming caused it to be overrun with all sorts of other non-superhero powers. No one was paying attention to that word ("superhero") at all, and so the name changed was a good idea. I don't have a problem with someone else starting a page to cover the other powers, and may even help on it. --Kickstart70-T-C 14:40, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Bot
Actually that's just how AWB behaves by default. Per stub policy, there's no correct place to put the stub, but since the stub category is the least important of the article's categories, some Wikipedians prefer to place the template after the category tags, so that the stub category will appear last. A stub can either be there or after the external links... anywhere else is awkward. I'm not sure what you mean by "template stuff". --W.marsh 20:35, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well... that's really something to bring up on WP:STUB's talk page to see if there's consensus to establish a standardized place to put the template. Right now, it's up to the editors discretion as far as I know. --W.marsh 21:14, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Are you an Icon maker?
I need a new User Box
Due to the fact I was looking at the history of the Wikipedia "Icon"-article page today, I was on your User Page. I thought I'd contact you because I'd like to find someone to make a new User Box.[2] Personally, I have no experience or expertise/knowledge for attempting to make one myself (not an artist at all).
I'd like to see a User Box for: "users who enjoy Cross-Country Skiing" As you may guess, these are pastimes that some of us in the North enjoy, and I believe there would be others with User Pages who also enjoy this recreation/sport [3] and might put the Box on their page.
Thanks for considering my request. Joel Russ 14:27, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Outcast (software)
I removed your speedy deletion tag, because the reason you gave isn't a criterion for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion is only useful for certain types of articles that should be deleted. See Wikipedia:Introduction to deletion process to learn more about how deletion works on Wikipedia. Oh, and welcome to the Crypto wikiproject! Mangojuicetalk 14:42, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Requests for your expertise.
Frap — I've noticed your work in the area of finding obscure (to me) technology companies and creating stubs. I prod a lot of articles, but I am learning to leave your creations alone! I mostly go after the conflict of interest edits.
Anyway, to my point. Can you verify that TriGem and TG Sambo are the same company and possibly find an English website to replace the Korean one? My second request is to suggest you create an article for Korean Data Systems (KDS). A couple of articles refer to it and we may as well provide links if the company is notable. Thanks for your consideration. JonHarder 03:18, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RE: G80 Add
Be careful FRAP. I already added that table once, and Mr. XYZ swooped in from on high to "teach me a lesson" about posting "unofficial specs." Since hardware makers publish hardware specs...? I'll back up any re-instatement of that portion of the article. Sahrin 03:22, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] GoatTracker
Your speedy deletion nomination for GoatTracker has been rejected. See my reply on Talk:GoatTracker - the CSD:A7 criteria does not apply to software. Such items deemed "non-notable" should be nominated as articles for deletion, or proposed deletion if you truly feel there is no objection. --Vossanova o< 16:59, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Spelling
Please don't change UK spellings to US spellings - both are fine. Your edit to Ubuntu changing specialised to specialized was unhelpful. Thanks. Secretlondon 18:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Warning/Retraction
Please do not replace Wikipedia pages or sections with blank content, as you did to Old school hip hop. It is considered vandalism. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. ReverendG 23:41, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry to assume vandalism, I can see you aren't the type to vandalize for the hell of it. Keep on keeping on. ReverendG 23:52, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Intimidated
Re your curiosity, I just found it a bit difficult trying to address things on talk pages, particularly with the odd less consensual/sensitive editor. But I do find that kind of thing stressful anyway, I'm getting over it. Interesting to see your links at the top of this page. EverSince 12:16, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
