[edit] 2001
You think 2001: A Space Odyssey is the best film ever made. Well, so do I. Sice the day I first saw it in the theater during its initial release. Nice to meet you -- Jason Palpatine 19:31, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Nice to meet you too, Jason. I read Clarke's novelization of 2001 before I saw the movie, but I've seen the movie in a theater setting at least a dozen times. The best one was seeing a brand new print in the Wang Theater in Boston back in the mid-1990s. It was practically a religious experience. — franl | talk ✤ 18:55, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

- Did yo know that Pope John Paul II said the same thing? -- Jason Palpatine 18:08, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

- No, I didn't know that. I figured he'd have philosophical issues with the opening theme (Thus Spoke Zarathustra), which is a reference to Nietzsche's book, in which Zarathustra says "God is dead". In a sense, that's also the theme of "2001: A Space Odyssey". — franl | talk ✤ 00:31, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] reply
you: what was the problem with how I had my info boxes formatted on my user page? Were they too wide for your browser?
- Just trying to be helpfull. No offense intended. Looked like {-----} on my monitor here. Sorry. --Jason Palpatine 20:20, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- Not a problem. I'm not sure what you mean by "Looked like {-----}". Were the images not rendering? Or were they just too wide across the page? Or something else? — franl | talk ✤ 17:34, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

- Everything was speadout in all directions. You know, like in the expression "the {------} hit the fan." Half of the boxes wer off the browser window. No offense. --Jason Palpatine 20:41, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
