Franktown, Ontario

Franktown is a community in Beckwith Township in eastern Ontario. It is located on Highway 15 between Carleton Place and Smiths Falls almost at 45 Degrees North Latitude. County Road 10 (Perth Road) joining Richmond and Perth also passes through Franktown.
A lilac festival is held here near the end of May.
An Environment Canada weather doppler radar station for Ottawa and eastern Ontario is located at Franktown.
The Jock River originates in a marsh near Franktown.
The town took its name from Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Cockburn, quartermaster for the settlement at Richmond, who built a storehouse there in 1818.
