Franklintown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Franklintown is the name given to the area in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that lies north of the Vine Street Expressway, south of Spring Garden Street, and west of Broad Street. It is sometimes considered to be the southernmost part of the Fairmount or Spring Garden neighborhoods. Franklintown consists of mostly newer highrise and midrise structures with large parking lots. This contrasts with the neighborhoods north of Spring Garden, which are mostly densely-packed historic rowhouses.
Community College of Philadelphia is located in Franklintown.
