Frankfurt (Main) Flughafen Fernbahnhof (translates from German as Frankfurt Airport long-distance station, also abbreviated as Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbf) is a railway station in Frankfurt, Germany that connects Frankfurt International Airport to long-distance trains, most of them ICE services following the Cologne-Frankfurt high-speed rail line.

The station was opened in 1999. It measures 660 metres in length and 45 metres in height. It features a large dome containing a lounge area and a ticket hall, and is connected to the airport by a skyway that crosses the A 3. A four-star hotel with convention center (AirRail-Center Frankfurt) will be built above the station.

[edit] Operational usage

In brief
DB station code: FFLF

As a special courtesy, Lufthansa allows its passengers to check in at Köln Hauptbahnhof and Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof. The passengers' luggage will then be transported on board the ICE trains and forwarded to the respective flight. This scheme is known as AiRail Service. Trains operating under that scheme have a separate LH number associated with them.
