Frankfort is a village in Ross County, Ohio, along the North Fork of Paint Creek. The town in located in Concord Township. The population was 1,011 at the 2000 census.

Frankfort is located at 39°24′20″N, 83°10′56″W (39.405687, -83.182219)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,011 people, 442 households, and 274 families residing in the village. The population density was 697.1/km² (1,792.9/mi²). There were 474 housing units at an average density of 326.8/km² (840.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 91.89% White, 4.85% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.20% Asian, and 2.87% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.10% of the population.

There were 442 households out of which 29.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.7% were married couples living together, 13.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.0% were non-families. 35.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.29 and the average family size was 2.95.

In the village the population was spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 89.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.7 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $2,262, and the median income for a family was $3,365. Males had a median income of $4,417 versus $2,000 for females. The per capita income for the village was $1,259. About 11.6% of families and 16.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 20.1% of those under age 18 and 25.4% of those age 65 or over.

Frankfort is served by the Adena Local School System, a K-12 school that jointly serves Concord and Deerfield townships.

Frankfort is the home of the International Sunflower Festival, a three day event held annually on first weekend of September.
